I'm not saying we're any role models or martyrs, but we try to give 'til it hurts. Still, we live a nice life and take our vacations when we can. Not like it's really such a terrible sacrifice. Even so, 10% of my gross goes to charity (old-style tithing, as taught by Maimonides and others). It's a pinch (works out to about 1/6 of my take-home from every check), but it's not like it really changes my quality of life.<br /><br />Anyhow, giving ten grand when you make millions is pathetic. If you make 8 million a year and give away 1 million or more, then I might be impressed. But even then, you'd still be left with 7 million.
